Vandalism forces school bus cancellation
A SCHOOL bus service was cancelled this week because of repeated vandalism.
The Carousel bus service taking schoolchildren from Little Kimble and Princes Risborough to Misbourne School was stopped because of an escalation in the number of attacks from December.
Bus managers said on one occasion a seat was ripped up and thrown through a window, causing £2,000 worth of damage.
And now Carousel claims the school has not done enough to tackle the troublemakers. However, the school insists it has been doing as much as legally possible to address the issue.
Steve Burns, managing director of Carousel, said: "We tried everything we could to get behaviour on the buses to improve, but we have received zero support from Misbourne School. They said it was nothing to do with them.
"We've never had the situation in the past where a school has not been prepared to work with us and improve the behaviour of their pupils. They were adamant they couldn't help.
"We've been forced into this. All we want to do is go about our business safely. We never wanted to do it - it's an unfortunate turn of events."
A parent said pupils at the school had been left "high and dry" following the cancellation of the service.
Marcus Vince, whose daughter Emma attends the school, said: "There has been no official communication to the parents. Collectively all the authorities have done nothing.
"Fifty to sixty kids have been left high and dry and everybody is saying they are not responsible.
"All we have heard has come from the bus drivers to the children to the parents."
Mr Vince said his daughter would not be able to get to school every day as there was no other way for her to get there.
"It's just grossly unacceptable in my opinion," he said. "If the school had taken an interest, the culprits could have been dealt with but it's been allowed to escalate."
Fifteen-year-old Emma, who is currently studying for her GCSEs, said: "We were all quite worried and quite annoyed we weren't told about it.
"They said it was our own problem and our parents were responsible for getting us to school.
"There's only going to be the odd day where my dad can take me, and I won't be able to get picked up."
A statement from the school said: "The school is most concerned to learn that there have been aspects of misbehaviour and vandalism on this specific route that may well have contributed to the company's decision.
"We have worked hard to forge a positive relationship with Carousel and have taken all necessary action within our legal limits to try and address these issues as they have arisen with specific individual children.
"The school is happy to support any investigation by relevant external authorities who may wish to look into the circumstances of this decision, and the school continues to deal with any students who have unequivocally demonstrated that they have brought the school into disrepute."

this does not do Misbourne any favours especially if you are about to choose your child's next school, and what about the parents responsibility they seem to think all their kids are angels but some of them are just vandals

From the sound of things perhaps the children aren’t happy at the school and are rebelling?
Would it not be quicker for the bus company to put an inspector on the bus and to ban any trouble makers? Perhaps a miserable “blakey” type from “on the busses” would solve the problem?

All it takes is one of the childrens parents to take it in turns to ride the bus and sort these little thugs out. What is going on in this world when we let some badly behaved school kids run rough shod over all. Bring back the cane i say. Stop **** footing whith these little gits.

1. Why can't young Emma ride a bike to school? (I know traffic can be dangerous, its a fact of life.)
2. There are probably just a few kids (probably boys) causing the damage. The others should get together and inform the bus company or school who is causing the damage. I suspect everyone is intimidated by the trouble makers...

I would just like to point out to all of those who trash Cressex all the time, that there are the same sort of problems with all secondary schools, something to do with the youth of today, and their parents?

These is also no real public transport to get there because you need to go all the way into high wycombe bus station which is in the wrong direction.

This is pathetic- there's a perfectly good performing school in Princes Risborough for her to attend which she could walk to.
A) Walking to school would help save the planet.
B) Perhaps it would take some of the excess energy out of the little 'darlings' and stop them vandalsing things.
